CMX

This is just a small page about the CMX clean machine, which i now use for cleaning my rail, and to be honest is the best cleaner i have ever tried. Basically it is a fluid storage tank on wheels, that allows you to drip cleaning fluid on the rails. Then the weight of the wagon and some sprung pad underneath polish the rails as it goes along. here are a few pictures....... Below is a pair of bachmann 37s i use to pull the cmx around camelot, it takes alot of pulling because of its weight and the friction of the pad.

Here is a close up of the tank. The knobs on top allow you to control the drip rate of the fluid, and fill the tank, the fluid drops down onto the cloth below and soaks it which in turn wipes the rails on every pass and gradually after a few passes makes them super shiney.

Here is the cleaning pad from underneath, you can see the dirt that has been wiped off the rails after 2 circuits.

Here are the other bits that come with it. Spare pads for replacing them when they are worn out. A syringe with a long pipe for adding the cleaning fluid and some rubber gaskets as spares(thats the black bit on top).

The cleaning fluid i use is below, it's Isopropanol and it is what is recommended by users of the CMX. I got mine from ebay, and its very cheap.
